STELLA ADLER DOWN UNDER Screen Actors Australia is bringing the acting coaches from the world renowned Stella Adler Theatre institute in Hollywood to train actors in Melbourne This August.. These amazing instructors will be conducting a series of weekend workshops in Improvisation and Scene Study at the Arts House, Meat Market in Blackwood Street, North Melbourne on Sat. and Sun. 21st & 22nd August and 28th & 29th August. The workshops will be held over two days. All actors will spend one day working on improv. and a second day on scene study. Any actor wanting to get the latest training from the best in Hollywood must book into one of these weekends. The fee is $495.00 ( GST inc) THE IMPROV. SESSION Pat Dade has been teaching Improvisation at Stella Adler since 1998. She is a former member of “Groundlings” Improvisation company and had numerous roles in Film and TV in the US. Her improv. sessions use theatre games, improv. exercises and scene work to leap past boundaries into strong choices in role playing, characterization and interrelating. THE SCENE STUDY SESSION Tim Craig studied acting and script analysis personally with Stella Adler. He headed Ms. Adlers Speech and Voice program for six years. Tim will show actors the unique Stella Adler way to break down a scene and develop complex truthful performances based on their analysis. It's been a huge month for our Geelong actors. Big auditions for Neighbours, ABC and overseas television commercials. Also loads of actors working on the current big films 'Killer Elite', 'The Cup', 'The Eye of the Storm' (Chris Gibson pictured with Geoffrey Rush on the shoot). Other big credits include Bed of Roses, Baker's Delight commercial, Before the Game, City Homicide. Geelong child actor Connor filmed a Kraft TVC a few months ago and has been waiting for it to reach the small screen. Finally the wait is over, and his commercial is being seen by all his friends and family. Connor has been training in the Geelong Child Master Class for the past 4 years, and has worked on various bits and pieces recently. Ascot Vale master class actors Charlene and Stephanie have both won roles on Rush. Stephanie filmed hers two weeks ago and Charlie will be filming hers later next week. Both girls aren’t new to working in the Australian film and television industry. With Stephanie working on shows like Blue Heelers, Basted Boys and Lake Mungo. Where Charlene was a lead actor on Scooter Secret Agent. Both girls have been with screen actors for the past 6 years and both have been training with the Ascot Vale master class for the past 3 years. Both of these girls put a lot of effort and passion into their craft and it’s great to see it paying off for them. Love your work!

Ascot Vale Master Class actors Craig Stott has been rewarded the runners up prize for the Heath Ledger scholarship. Craig had been with us at Screen Actors in Ascot Vale for the past 5 years before he made the move to LA to study at Stella Adler after participating in the Screen Actors Hollywood Bootcamp. Craig works harder at his acting than anyone I know and he truly deserves all the rewards he’s been receiving lately. Geelong actor Chris has had a great month. Recently he worked on a new big-budget feature film and met the amazing Geoffrey Rush. And last week he scored a last-minute job on 'Before the Game' as a mime artist. He was introduced by comedian Mick Molloy, then proceeded to mime his way around one of the hosts. Chris has developed a very strong relationship with his agent, which has helped him get some great opportunities lately. Esther Anderson began her acting career as a Belmont high school student in Geelong training with Screen Actors in our original North Geelong studio. Although it's been a fast rise to fame for the gorgeous Geelong actor since landing the role of policewoman Charlie Buckton on long-running soap Home and Away less than two years ago she has worked for a long time to build her career. Training in Geelongs leading drama school at Screen Actors, she built her acting skills and technique in class. She took on the industry and won a a role as a lifestyle show presenter. Esther then used her acting skills to develop her on screen personality into a marketable identity, The producers of Home and Away had confidence in her and now she's been nominated for the Gold Logie for most popular television personality and a Silver Logie for most popular actress at Australian TV's night of nights. The Gold Logie is the peak award in Australian TV. She will battle Packed To The Rafters star and TV stalwart Rebecca Gibney and multiple Logie winner Rove McManus.
