Frequently Asked Questions
What is Screen Actors?
Screen Actors started training actors in 1990. Since then thousands of people of all ages and abilities have participated in the program, developing their dramatic skills and self-esteem. Hundreds of our actors have gone on to perform in roles ranging from bit parts to main cast members in movies and drama series. We've had actors appear in main roles and guest roles in "Neighbours", "Blue Heelers", and in the children's series "Scooter Secret Agent", "Wicked Science" and "Saddle Club". Plus you'll see our actors in TV commercials and as presenters. Whether you're just acting for fun, or trying to get your big break, Screen Actors is the leading choice for the role!
What type of courses do you offer?
We have classes for children, teenagers and adults, consisting of a base program of weekly two-hour classes during the school term. We also offer week-long school holiday Bootcamps and one day intensives. Students can also attend Saturday afternoon Casting Showcases that provide an opportunity for them to audition with leading Casting Directors.
Is there a formal audition process?
No. We think that using our technique, anyone can act. We offer a free trial class so you can come and look at us in action.
How large are the groups?
Class sizes are limited to 16 people. This is a great size as we usually work in pairs or groups of three for the scenes and it is ideal for game playing.
What about my preschooler? Can they attend?
Definately! We have a specifically designed program for preschool aged children. These run during the school term. We also run Saturday afternoon Casting Showcases where our little actors can audition with leading Casting Directors.
How does the preschool program differ from the other classes?
Our Screen Tots program consists of weekly 50 minute classes. Class sizes are limited to 10 children. This is the perfect sized class for children of this age. Parents are also integral to the training process. In our Kids, Teens & Adult classes parents do not stay, and the student work with one another for scenes and warm up games. In the Screen Tots program, as a parent, you will work with your child to help them understand and learn the scripts, participate in the game play and rehearse scenes on set.
Can I get an Agent?
Training with us will help you, or your child, to get the best Agent possible. Agents regard our training program as an asset because it helps actors win auditions. We have relationships with a variety of excellent Agents and can refer you to them.
How much is it and how do I pay?
